Genius Loci: International Symposium of Ecosomatic Arts - ‘Bodies, Places, Communities’

Two days of in-person and online presentations, conversations and sharing of practices, performances, lecture-performances and demonstrations to explore the role of ecosomatic arts as gateways to respond to ecological crises through processes of perception, care, creation, and participation.

The symposium is aimed at national and international artists, scholars and educators oriented to the environment, and engaged in the community in the fields of somatics, dance, choreography, performance, theater, music, visual, multidisciplinary and curatorial arts, ecology, education, anthropology, philosophy, archaeology, and other related disciplines.

‘Nature in Motion’ - Panel discussion on Ecosomatics (XDance Festival Helsinki)

This panel discussion on ecosomatics features Raffaele Rufo, Petra Kuppers, Jared Gradinger and Maria Huhmarniemi. The event is part of the upcoming inclusive dance festival, XDance Festival 2025, which will take place from June 2nd to June 8th in Helsinki under the project "Nature in Motion." This is an initiative funded by the ERASMUS programme, exploring how movement and nature can come together to create more inclusive, accessible, and enriching experiences and connections for all.
